The Order
When the Vested of Senescia united the Ghrymzuqal orcs and marched a massive force of the undead out of the Omgi Ztehh, crossing the Ardena, and laying siege to High Reaches, a glaring problem became apparent. The Ardena bridge, long left unfortified because the Restless had never deigned to cross it, was an open door from the horrors of the Omgi-Ztehh swamps, and the rest of Eramere. High Reaches, together with the rest of the continent, began a small garrison to at least give warning that the Restless were on the march so that the continent could not be caught so unaware again.
From that small garrison grew the Order of the Resolute Light, an organization of warriors, mages, and the faithful, dedicated to a single purpose, keeping the walking dead contained from the rest of the continent. They have over the last 500+ years turned the small redoubt built by the original garrison, into a heavily fortified keep, walls ringing the ancient Ardena bridge. Ardena keep is manned and operated by the Order, which is made up of idealists, adventurers, and people that have no where else to go.
