Ignatius Valerian
From Myths of Atalan Wiki
Name: Ignatius Valerian
Position: Praeto, Office of the Academy
Age: 41
Personality:
A strong, charismatic man. A sworn devout of Memnos. He had a reputation for fighting corruption. A no-nonsense disposition, he took his responsibilities very seriously, and upholded the law as his highest duty. He was respected, but not much cared for by the rank and file, due to his lack of interest in any form of relaxation, and his denial of women, drink, and gambling. He was by all definitions a workaholic. He considered criminals to be not only offenders of the law, but offenders to the Overseers, and was sometimes known to attempt to bring charges of heresy, impiety, blasphemy, or other crimes of a religious nature upon them, despite the Halmorian legal society currently viewing these charges as "old fashioned".
Background:
Born the only son of a priest of Memnos, he was given a strict regimented upbringing. Due to his father's hopes that he would follow after him in the formal clergy, as soon as he was old enough, he was sent for his primary theological training in the House of Concordant Cycles. However, as soon as he came of age to legally make his own decisions, Ignatius instead joined the Legion, and after basic evaluations, he was sent to an officer's training academy, graduating at the top of his class and earning a position of Primo. He was assigned to Latronis' Legion.
At 21, he was the youngest Primo serving in the Legion under Imperitor Arimus Latronis. He caught the Imperitor's eye due to their common faith and his faithful upholding of the tenants of Memnos in both his professional and private life; during their off time he would often accompany the Imperitor to the Temple, rather than accompanying his fellow officers to the tavern.
When the Auxili was formed, Ignatius was brought on by Julius Palmer on Latronis' recommendation from the beginning as one of the Inspector Praeto, a promotion from his post in the Legion.
With the promotions within the Auxili to merge with the Atalan Legion, he found himself within the Legion once again, but now as a Praeto himself.
Valerian fell in the fall of Atalan while defending the Church District.
