Valerian was a member of the Auxili for three years before Atalan fell. Feeling a strong sense of duty towards what remained of his family and his new home, Valerian requested to be allowed to serve within the Militia and protect High Reaches. Valerian served with distinction, never earning a single mark against his folder. Valerian is a highly ordered man, believing in a strict code of conduct well beyond that adopted by the Militia and is likely the reason he is one of the few people within the Militia that Commander Gregorius gets along with. Possessing a sense of humor some might call quirky, the Lieutenant favors puns of any stripe.

Getting on in years Valerian has retired from an active patrol route. He now oversees the barracks and is responsible for the logistics of the City Force, serving as Commander Gregorius' right hand man.
