Lived: 80s IY – 141 IY
Location: Halmorian Empire
Titles: The Bulwark, Imperitor of Imperial Defense

Bio: Known as ‘Lethus the Bulwark’, Lethus Daleneius was an esteemed warrior who lived circa 100 IY. Lethus was one of the first commanders of Emperor Farus Dimorii’s new standing army. He pioneered the development of military armor, shields in particular. It is he who is credited with introducing widespread deployment of tower shields to the Legions, influencing Legion strategy and philosophy for centuries to come.

Lethus’ battalions were tasked with defending the fringes of the Empire; the most commonly raided locations. Lethus established a network of defenses, incorporating natural borders as best as he could. Stockades and watchtowers dotted the villages and crossroads of the Empire’s rural holdings.

He was known to personally lead assaults on marauder encampments, donning his characteristic palisade-emblazoned full plate and tower shield. His shield was said to remain intact after even a hundred battles, standing tall and proud. His plate was told to have nary a scratch on it, for none could penetrate or surpass his guard. Supporting the legend of his invulnerability is his peaceful retirement from the Legions and eventual passing due to old age, after serving for over a generation. As a reward for his faithful and diligent service, the Daleneius family was given major nobility status after his retirement.
