Haagor Dorsgaard
Valkshir Legend
The legend of Haagor Dorsgaard is one of the oldest in the oral tradition of the Valkshir. Said to have lived long ago, all true history of the period is shrouded by the mists of time. It is said that once long ago Valka was shared by the Valkshir and a race of giants who ruled over them. The giants were tyrants of the worst sort, using the Valkshir as slaves and entertainment when they pitted them against each other like dogs. It was in one of these depraved tournaments that Haagor was forced to slay his own son Ulfir. Both men were clad in armor and helms that obscured the face, and the giants took great delight at Haagor's grief when he learned that the man he slew was his own kin.
Haagor's grief turned to rage, as these things often do. In his rage though he found focus, and he looked upon his people, and he saw that they were strong, and most importantly, outnumbered the giants ten to one. In a great uprising like the Valkshir have naught achieved since they battled their former masters over snow and mountain. For years the Valkshir battled with Haagor at their lead, and they did not rest until every giant was dead and burned. Haagor was made the first Haegrim or king, and the Valkshir were united for one of the last times until the Halmorian invasion in recent history.
