Born on the shores of Eramere, Francis joined the ranks of the Auxili, and later when the it was combined with the Legion served with distinction during the Blackspear Horde War and the period of starvation within Atalan. After the declaration of independence, Francis felt no compulsion to return to a land he had never known. Instead he remained, and helped protect the stream of refugees during the exodus of Atalan.

Upon arrival within High Reaches, Francis offered his services to the defenders of the settlement and was one of the first humans to be accepted into the militia. Having both experience as a member of the Auxili and a Legionnaire, Francis was and ideal candidate for the City Force and continuously served above reproach.
