Cameron, known by most people as Cam, is a tall, yet unimposing man in his late sixties, who has lived in High Reaches for much of his life. He has a gentle smile, and the hands of a scholar, never quite taking up the adventuring life as his adopted father had. He wears glasses now, the result of long hours of staring at the various tomes throughout the library.

Cam tried his best to be a daring adventurous sort, trying to live up to what he thought his father would have wanted, but the life never really took for him. Neither did, despite his own considerable natural talents, and the drive of his adopted father, the study of magic. Cam has always been more interested in the study, and chronicling of history, his most famous work being his accounting of the last war with the Blackspear, which he had lived through. He did go on one adventure, to Atalan, in search of his father Gralin Hovis, and those that had gone with him but he returned, empty handed, and somehow oddly content. While he never speaks of what was found, when asked a wisp of a smile often graces his face.

Currently Cam resides over the Library of the University, allowing people to purchase books, and some scrolls, though nothing too powerful. He teaches History as well, and is one of the favored professors, for he is known to be somewhat lenient, and kindhearted. He has two children with his now deceased wife Nira Willows, Jameson Hovis, and Athera Hovis (It's a well known Fact that his father asked him not to name any of his children after him).
