A blond, blue eyed Lakoi who once concealed a dashingly handsome face behind his spectacles and luscious unkempt hair. His light olive skin has since betrayed his age, though he is in remarkably good shape considering.

Bio:
As a teenager Azraff was smart, shy and individualistic, but most importantly, heartwrenchingly handsome. It was for these reasons he found himself in several arranged marriages and subsequently boarded one of the first ships to the new world to escape them. Only sixteen and with little money to his name Azraff set out to join the obsidian academy almost immediately upon his arrival. He would later claim fate was the reason why, only a year after his admission to the academy, he developed natural arcane abilities.

As one of the first sorcerers Azraff spent the early portion of his academy career either being studied or studying himself. It took another year before those studies ended and Azraff could focus his attention on his real passion, divination. You see Azraff liked to read, to him books offered everything life could and more, after all they were generally better informed then people and were less imposing to interact with. To him divination was akin to reading and reading was akin to life.

Such was Azraff’s passion for divination that it saw him quickly rise through the ranks of the Obsidian Academy to the position of adept where with his newfound access to the obelisk he would propose his most ambitious project yet, a thorough organization of the Obelisk's Runes. It was early on, in fact as soon as people realized that those runes hold the secrets of magic, that a small group had been formed to observe them, although with the runes shifting, moving and reshaping themselves constantly, few thought they would be possibly cataloged. Azraff managed to organize that small group and conceive an organizational structure that allowed for dated and timed rune appearances, even those that were yet untranslated.

Impossible as it was to keep records of the whole Obelisk at any given time, the archive grew, as did its importance. People started looking through it for missed runes, experiments and researches referenced its records more often and some people started making projections of expected recurrences, attempting to discern patterns in the Obelisk itself.

The archives, when last seen was a room full of dated, timed records in neat books as well as dozens upon dozens of new material waiting for organization, increasing every day, rivaling the common library, and became known as the Obelisk's Transcripts.

Even many years later, Azraff attempts to discern useful from useless data, discarding familiar or known patterns, and holding unknown ones for decryption.
Incidentally, this work makes Azraff particularly busy, preventing him from engaging in any active research. Not that he seems to mind. Thoroughly immersed in his work Azraff hasn’t changed much since his younger days. Though he holds a strong natural charisma and is almost instantly likable, he considers this a curse, because he’s also exceedingly shy and would much rather be working or reading, then socializing or answering questions.

He’s committed to his work, and will defend its purpose passionately… though he may stutter and hesitate a little if he is forced to get confrontational. He’s otherwise quite friendly and willing to help, unless it’ll keep him away from his work too long or involves a lot of regular interaction.
