Please note that not all names of each alcohol will be known by all people.

Syl'vae

Race View: The Syl'vae, despite long lives, find there are more important things these days than alcohol. Not to say that in the past alcohol was not a staple in the many celebrations and festivals, the artform still lives on today, even if in a lesser capacity. Among the other Eramere native races the Syl'vae are remembered for their wines above all else.

Sentha (RL equivalent = Amaretto)
This amber liquid has the bouquet of cherries and the warms the nostrils of the one invibing it. Designed for sipping in small quantities this liqueur is often found in the company of Sylvae rangers who spend many a night in the cold woods. Since its creation this intoxicating liqueur has found its way to to the Haerkglar and the Chorav for those with a discerning taste.

Milena
The Milena is a wine favored by the older generation with more experienced palates over the centuries. It is a dry yet peppery taste that compliments meals with red meat, often paired with foods that have a sharper taste so that the flavor is cut allowing for subtler flavors to emerge. It's deep red color shines like a ruby in candle light.

Cheron'Centar
A wine made with a crisp yet dry flavor. Those dining on vegetation or poultry find this beverage a better accompaniment. When held to the light this wine is nearly clear with the most subtle of a golden tinge.

Haerkglar

Race View: The Brew Masters of the Haerkglar race are widely respected across Eramere. It is even said a cask or two of lesser brew had made it to the old empire before war broke out, where it was prized among the nobility. Since the time of the Great Loss many have taken to the drink with a darker need, to forget, and later, to celebrate, thus the Brew Masters are more in demand to create drinks for the task.

Hra'feren (RL equivalent = Guinness)
Most often referred to as "Hoilin's Special Brew" this heavy brew sits heavy in the stomach of even the most experienced drinker. The more cynical say that the darkness of the liquid itself draws the soul of the drinker into it, the only retaliation being to drink it and regain ones soul.

Rauchbier (RL equivalent = Smoked Beer)
The grains for this brew are roasted, allowing the smokiness to be absorbed into it. This transfers into the beer itself giving it a unique flavor among the traditional Haerkglar brew types. Having a high malt to low hop ratio it has become a favored of amateur brewers wishing to get a taste of the trade.

Nerbrev (RL equivalent = Amber beer)
The style balances rich, fragrant malt flavors with crisp hops. The color is lighter than most Haerkglar brews but has a red, or auburn, coloration. Lacking in the strength of some brews this style is reserved for outsiders or beardlings who could not handle a true brew.

Tarith (RL equivalant = Hard Cider)
Originally brewed for times of celebration or festivity among the Syl'vae, it is a variety that is now offered upon request. It's sweet flavor is deceiving to inexperienced drinkers who find it clouds the judgment rather effectively.

Highest Reach
Created by Amber RedBeard, Highest Reach is a warm blended cask ale that was a mixture of a stronger lager aged in old whiskey barrels that perfectly balanced the strength of the whiskey flavor with the malt of the beer. Easy to drink but high in alcohol content.

Summer Grove
Created by Amber RedBeard, Maer'Havel inspired Summer Grove is a citrus whit that combines the subtle taste of a wheat beer with the sinus opening tang of summery citrus flavor that cannot help but make you smile while you sip it and picture amazing flora and fauna all around you.

Desert Fire
Inspired by the Chorav and created by Amber RedBeard, Desert Fire is a spirit that combines the burn of whiskey with the actual burn of capsaicin for an amusing kick in the teeth and throat that may make you cough but will always have you wanting more.

Lazy Lagoon
A Torican inspired very traditional pale lager created by Amber RedBeard that is incredibly easy to drink, and when combined with a slice of lime or lemon seems to bring out the fullness of the lager, somehow conveying a sense of summer and the ocean.

Explosive Tea
Created by Amber RedBeard, Explosive Tea is a slight misnomer. The drink is a vodka infused with various herbs that combine differently with each sip to grant the drinker a new experience of flavors and chemical interactions. The flavors range from sweet to sour, and the chemical interactions vary from itching, to shivers, and countless others.

Chorav

Race View: Being a race of traders the Chorav acquire many varieties of liquor from Eramere residents, but rarely create their own. This does mean that the knowledge and desire does not exist in the rare few.

Sintha (RL equivalent = Absinthe)
This "juice " is derived from the hard thriving plant life in the desert. It's final product is a green bitter flavor that is more often than not mixed with cool water and sugar cubes. The result of imbibing too much causes hallucinations or "visions".

Cactus Juice (RL equivalent = cactus juice)
This beverage, often found at Chorav drinking establishment is sweet and tangy. Derived primarily from the fermented fruit of the prickly desert growing cactus, some have been known to introduce some exotic flavors into the mix to make something unique. In the most common batch the liquid is an intense ruby red and quite refreshing in the desert heat. It is often mixed with Sintha.

Orcs

Race View: The Orcs as a people follow the Onim provided by Lethe, thus their time is often occupied with more important matters than creation of alcohol. It is not to say that within families and clans there are not those that pride themselves on producing intoxicating substances for times of celebration. Celebrations are few and far between, calling for only the best the Orcs can provide.

Huntrenka (RL equivalent = Mead)
Heavily viscous this liquid coats the glass and the stomach of person drinking it. The Orcs, not dedicating much time to creation of alcohol, brew this mainly as a "home brew". Tho during times of celebration members of the tribe will create this substance in as large a quantity as possible. Often a batch of Huntrenka will be blessed by a shaman of Lethe, making it that much more appealing to the members of the tribe.

Gnomes

Race View: One might assume that alcohol clouds judgment, this is true. It also gives insight into things one may not otherwise see possible. Brewers of the Gnome race are often scientists and theorists who are looking for an escape from their normal routine in order to regain focus, even if that focus causes others to lose theirs.

Jeka (RL equivelant = Vodka)
Distilled from grains this liquor has a harsh bite and packs a real punch. Sometimes mixed with berry juices from the mainland to give a variety of flavor this alcohol, and its creation, has lead to more than a few explosions. This however has not stopped production.

Hal'Den'Arvera (RL equivalent = Brandy)
Excess wines or "lesser varieties" purchased from off island are often converted into Haldena. Created by accident in recent years this alcohol has slowly garnered recognition for its unique flavor. The wine is now heated in controlled conditions, as opposed to the original fire that caused the death of three Gnomes. Their names forever immortalized in its unique name.

Human Alcohols

View: Those from the empire that came to Eramere were vast in expertise and need. Among them were of course brew masters seeking to spread fame of their brew, as well as those that sought new ingredients to create something truly unique. Since war has broken out in the old empire these brewers are been looked to more often for creation of beverages to appease the masses.

Otter Sodder (RL equivalent = Pilsner)
Once brewed in the back rooms of the Frothing Otter Inn this beverage has a strong hops flavor. It was quite popular in the past among the newer, less discerning, adventuring types. The recipe of this ale made its way to Torica. With shortages of goods the batches of this drink are often watered down to accommodate adventurers in need of refreshment.

Longbow Ale (RL Equivalent = Hard Apple Cider)
After the sundering of Atalan, with the migration of it's surviving human population, there grew a need for a new beverage to satiate the masses. As the humans mingled with the native population in the early days of High Reaches one particular Halmorian ex-patriot by the name of Wesley learned to brew an ale that would come to impress the humans and at least satisfy the natives. The crisp and tart flavor of Longbow Ale was once a staple of the High Reaches tavern.

Island Fire (RL Equivalent = Umbrella Drink)
A mix drink that became quite popular on the human island settlement. This drink borrows from Jeka and Hal'Den'Arvera from the neighboring Gnomes, combined with vitamin rich fruits to produce something not entirely unpleasing. The more well-to-do that indulge in this beverage often import Sentha from the Syl'vae to add as well.

Golden Fire (RL equivalent = Whiskey)
Made in small batches the strength of this amber liquid varies depending on the who had taken the time to make it. In its most common form on the island, the Golden Fire is generally of low quality and in need of an ale accompaniment. Higher quality batches are savored in sips and drank alone. Either way this liquid tends to give an artificial warmth to the consumer that goes from head to toe.

Blend Wine (RL equivalent = Table Wine)
A lower alcohol content wine that derives from various different varieties of grapes. This process allows the blending of many flavors but without giving a one distinct taste, often changing with each batch produced. Popular among the lower to middle class that believe they are being discerning by drinking wine over lesser alcoholic beverages.

Warrior's Thirst (RL equivalent = Mead)
Similar to the brew produced by the Orcs, this beverage is actually an attempt at recreating the favored drink of the Valkshir during times of celebration. Traditionally made by the gatherer's of the tribe this viscous drink usually has a good head of frothiness and packs a mean punch as those who migrated here attempt as close a possible recreation of their favorite drink for fellow Valkshir.

Sweet Victory (RL equivalent = Cider)
First brewed by the Valkshir that migrated to Atalan, this is also an attempt to recreate a much enjoyed beverage of their homeland. Obviously the type of fruits on Eramere vary, thus giving batches of this a different taste and quality than what the ancient Valkshir were raised with.

Rot Gut (RL equivalent = Moonshine)
This Lakoi favorite, made when yeast ferments a sugar source to produce a potent milky liquid, then the alcohol is extracted from this liquid through distillation, using often makeshift home stills. Rot Gut is rarely is aged in barrels like proper alcohols, and it sometimes contains impurities and off flavors. On rare occasions, it may even be toxic in its alcoholic levels. The off flavors may come from improper mashing, fermentation and/or distillation, and unsuitable storage containers. Every batch has its own uniqueness.

Karress (RL equivalent = Sherry)
Considered to be the first true drink of the new generation born in Atalan. Karress was named for it's creator it came about after the first initial tradings between the Gnomes and the newest residents of Atalan. Over the years of importing Hal'Den'Arvera from the Gnomes it got in the head of a wine maker named Christian Karress who after the fermentation process of a batch of wine attempted to fortify it with the Gnomish Hal'Den'Arvera. At first the mixture has a dryness that is offset by the later addition of sugars and flavors.

Skor (RL equivalent = Grog)
This drink originally came to Eramere as part of the crew's rations aboard transport ships. A mixture of stagnant water, weak beer, alcohol and citrus juices and often cinnamon. Little is seen of this now-a-days as ships rarely make the long trek across the seas. It is rumored that sailors in Eramere continue to make something similar out of habit.
