Nathan is a grizzled veteran that spent the first part of his Militia career within the Field Force before transferring into the City Force. Nathan was present when Captain Theihad fell, and this was the impetus for transferring into the City Force. Nathan helped bring back the Captain's body after the Ghrymzuqal were defeated. Seeing the loss of his Captain broke something in Nathan, and so he decided to throw his efforts into investigating any and all crimes around High Reaches.

Nathan has served the Militia for the last forty years as an officer, and most of that time as a detective, but despite his dedicated service he has refused all offers of promotion, preferring to keep his current rank. Rumor says that Nathan will never accept a rank higher than Officer because his true Captain is no longer alive to promote him. Nathan is responsible for training many of the current detectives within the City Force and works closely with Lieutenant Daniels in pursuing high profile crimes.
