Brisco's parents are said to have wandered the lands of Eramere after the destruction of Atalan, finally coming to settle in an isolated part of the Sorrow Woods. There they lived in peace with the land and conceived twins, a boy named Brisco and a girl named Hima. Brisco now speaks little of this time of his life, similarly of either his parents or his sister.

Whatever catastrophe that may have occurred there, the first known sighting of Brisco was amongst travelers heading to Torica. They were being assaulted by creatures he had never seen before, large dog-like animal creatures attacking on two legs with the weapons of man. Coming to their aid he was informed that these "Karr" were quite a distance from their normal lands, and the people were lucky he had come to their aid. Feeling obligated he offered to escort them the rest of the distance to Torica.

Upon reaching Torica, Brisco found himself confronted with a way of life like he had never known. There were so many people, and from what he saw, so much crime. He could not help but step into situations in attempt to uphold the just, as his father had taught him. It was for this reason Mayrie, the current mayor, took a keen interest in Brisco. He was different than the usual fighter coming through the area, as it seemed that he was honest, and defended the right and just. It took some time, but he finally agreed to stay on in a law enforcement capacity.
