A painting, I have no frame,
No gallery exhibits me;
Here today, tomorrow I move;
Yet I am as permanent as life itself.
A painting, I use no canvas,
Yet my canvas is the essence of life;
No brush was used in my creation,
But colors are mine to display.
A painting, I am.

Lalaith is one of the more newly recognized Overseers, one who has very quickly garnered a large following from both those once following Lilianthe, and Luscient. Showing herself to a number of artists at first, she soon became widely known for her inspiration and blessings of luck in song, art, poetry, metalwork, and even war. Her time of power comes as Spring turns into summer, as passion rises across the lands, and the desire for more travel and freedom to discover new inspiration is sparked. Many of those who once followed Lilianthe as Lady Luck, now give the same name to Lalaith, and she has drawn a number of Lakoi followers for this alone.

Lalaith is almost always depicted as a young woman with long golden-red hair ornately pinned back in part, wearing a beautiful dress of blue and gold. Her skin is bronze, and her eyes a bright, laughing green.

Lalaith prefers to stay away from battle when possible, or prefers to aid from afar when not, but she is far from helpless if approached, and woe on the one who provokes her true anger. When she draws Mirthless Chuckle, an apparently simple, mithral scimitar, joy seems to seep out of the world. Each sound becomes somber, each song a dirge, each shout a wail. The blade itself seems to whisper incessantly, each swing causing the whispers to intensify into intelligible words, often describing the worse fears of Lalaith's opponents, and it is quite often that the battle ends with its drawing, everyone affected dropping to their knees in tears. Mirthless Chuckle is an "excellent dancer", as she is quoted of mentioning, and it can fight on its own, leaving Lalaith free for other concerns. Mortals touching Mirthless Chuckle without permission are overwhelmed by song and laughter, all thoughts of conflict fleeing their minds and moods. Lalaith would not grant the blade to be handled by mortals, but instead follow them, offering aid as needed through its "dancing".

Holy Symbols of Lalaith are made of gold or bronze, cast to form a horn opening to the bottom right, resting on a circle of silver. Occasionally various impurities are intentionally added to the bronze to turn the horn colours of mauve and green along with the gold, and the horn is often decorated with gems. In the case of devout clerics, Lalaith has been known to grant the symbol the ability to remain warm even in the coldest weather, and such symbols are occasionally seen to flash lightly when looked at out of the corner of an eye.

The church of Lalaith is intensely involved in spreading luck and inspiration in all its forms. Often they are hard at work creating works of art, music, dance and poetry that inspire the populace to greater heights of any kind. Craftsmen worshiping Lalaith create great masterpieces of architecture and metalcraft also.

The Songstress is commonly revered by bards, architects, craftsmen, musicians, poets, gamblers, and the young at heart.
