House van Martellus
House Tradition holds that their founder, Sir Martellus I, was Knighted by Emperor Justinous I himself. Furthermore, the Head of the House has been in a direct male line for at least two dozen generations. Sometime during their service to the Emperor, they were awarded to the Ducal House of Palustris, where their oath has been at least for the last five centuries. These ancient, upheld oaths have had the unfortunate side effect of keeping them in the role of a subservient minor house, while other ancient Knightly Houses had been promoted to major houses including Duchies, throughout the Empire.
All members of this house are said to be returning to the mainland after the arrival of the von Strathornes.

- Margravine Gertrude Van Martellus, Geoffrey's wife, protects the children of the nobility in particular.
- Count Geoffrey Van Martellus XXIV, their eldest son, is their heir presumptive. He left to fight in the war before others of his house left Eramere, and was known to be both young and charismatic.
- Countess Beatrice Van Martellus, their daughter, is a devout of Fraeyal.
