Choal was born within High Reaches and had a strong sense of duty and protection instilled in him at a very early age by his father who had served within the militia. Upon coming of age, Choal submitted his name for consideration within the Militia, following in the footsteps of his father upon the urging of Warden Am'endir prior to his death. Choal spent the first year within the militia protecting the citizens of High Reaches from various incursions from rampaging Karr to the attack of the undead out of the swamp. Choal was an efficient man, however he often came off as timid, having lived in his father's shadow and being naturally kind hearted.

After his first year, Choal was promoted to Warden for his excellence in service to the people of High Reaches. As he became more comfortable in his role within the Militia, Choal became more confident of himself. Choal quickly won the hearts and minds of many within High Reaches as he continued to serve in the Militia. As time passed, Choal was approached as running for Councilor due in no small part to his popularity among the people of High Reaches. Choal chose instead to serve the people of High Reaches as a militiaman and eventually made the rank of Officer. Choal was put in charge of recruitment for the Militia and has managed a steady stream of recruits from all races.
