What followed the Fall of Atalan in the Summer of 988IY/2841EC. can only be described as The Great Storm, or to some of the natives, The Sundering. Still others have termed it The Awakening, or the War of the Overseers.

Lightning, fire, snow and ice, clashed with rain and wind and shaking earth. Light and darkness warred overhead, and all around in all directions. Neither arcane nor divine magic was usable as The Exodus from Atalan traveled over plains and hills towards High Reaches. Time seemed to stand still, and light burst in all directions... before all seemed to return to normal. Besides the dragons on their tails.

Over Eramere, as people began to flee in greater numbers from Atalan, the oily black storm had changed as the elements and light rained down on the creature of darkness. It was now an almost regular storm... if you didn't notice it was snowing at the same time as rain.

The massive storm, though, continued all through their travel, as walls of water rose behind them, and both rain and snow fell at the same time, light rolling through dark clouds of all colours. Lightning strikes were frequent, and fire rained down all over Eramere. Magic continued to be unresponsive.

It was as a meteor struck somewhere within the Karrgath Hills, light and chaos raining down everywhere around the various travelers... water rising up behind them...

That time seemed to stand still for a moment...
and then another...

A bright burst of light...

And the storm was gone. It was mid-afternoon, and sunny.

It was yet a few weeks later, that divine magic began to work once more.

However, much had changed... and so, had some of the Overseers themselves...
