Regardless of what a person does in life, they ought to take pride in a day's hard work properly done, even if that day's hard work is being lifted from an unsuspecting mark's belt and replaced with a pouch of pebbles and rocks. What master smiths, sword instructors, prosperous merchants and scholars are to their respective fields, the Master Thief is to everything criminal. Found in every potential criminal exercise from untaxed games of chance, robbery, confidence deceptions, and more, Master Thieves stand above the rest for their myriad of assembled talents and skills, able to coerce, convince, deceive, and articulate their meaning with blade, fist, cudgel, or even raised brow. Where the thug threatens violence, the swindler peddles tonics, and the snatch-and-grabs simply overwhelm with numbers and scatter, the Master Thief is the consummate professional, making as much or as little of a statement as they wish to impart upon their mark, be it a warning, a reminder, or even a gesture of superiority.
