THE OASIS

The Oasis within the the Daiobi Desert may have been settled countless times in the past, however it was settled by Valnik Nandia. The Nandia clan is a group of scavenging, Faergol worshiping Chorav, not unlike many other clans. Upon entering the oasis one sweaty hot day when Luscient ruled the sky passionately, Valnik, who had already been traveling for days without water happened upon the clear waters of the Oasis. He had ventured away from his clan in search of a camp for the night, and upon finding the beautiful oasis, he decided this was it.

The Nandia clan had been fortunate in their scavenging this day and carried many heavy items with them. Upon catching up to Valnik, they were happy to set their treasures down and rest. The next morning when the clan awoke they had visitors. The rival clan had spotted the Oasis from another direction and wanted to stay for awhile, but Valnik, being the possessive type, decided he wanted to lay claim to the land himself. The Nandia clan was small but they were resourceful and favoured by Faergol. They managed to frighten the rival clan away somehow and began to do something that the Chorav rarely do. That being that the Nandia clan began to set up a permanent residence.

The Oasis was frequented by travelers due to it being the only water source within the desert for miles and the Nandia family quickly found buyers for their treasures there. They also found many travelers looking to sell their wares that were too heavy to carry through the hot dry desert. Thus the Nandia family set up their own market; renting space to merchants, but keeping many of the stalls within control of the family.

Few know why the Nandia family have never been challenged for this plot of land, but it is certain that any who may have tried are not around to tell the story.
