The Obelisk Agents are a group of driven, motivated and talented individuals who serve as the primary protection for the Obsidian Academy, and within the ranks of the Legion. Headed by Praeto Ignatius Valerian, Obelisk Agents are some of the most aggressive and assertive individuals a person might meet, as many are driven to master not only one, but multiple disciplines, both arcane and martial. Most of the Obelisk Agents strive to meld the arcane and the martial, however for some such is a stepping stone, leading to even more difficult martial techniques and disciplines, while others seek more potent and difficult arcane studies. Others eschew such, favoring studies that are more in line with their arcane inclinations, or the martial, offering protective services or even investigative skills, over direct power.

Common among the Obelisk Agents are an almost expected assertive streak and confidence that can be found in those who serve, regardless of gender or faith. Agents are drawn from the bold and the aspiring, and pressed and tested and pushed, to develop the most from each agent, and to instill in them the qualities of both aspects of the organization, both intellectual and martial, drawing on the Legion and the Academy and bringing them together in one potent, dangerous package.
