Base Classes | Prestige Classes

There are those who once balked at the restrictive nature of the Academy, its rules, its regulations, its disciplined dogma overseen by gray haired Magnates. To them the undue burdened placed upon the use of the Arcane was and is still seen as a travesty, an unnecessary obstacle in the path of true understanding. Casting off the will of the Obsidian Academy, an Unchained Magus threw himself fully into the depths of Arcane mastery and study, no longer adhering to the carefully laid out doctrine many Wizards and Sorcerers follow. These men and women embraced a different viewpoint instead, one that to them is still as clear as any clarion call, and that is to pursue Arcane knowledge with every fiber of their being, regardless of the cost, whether it be physical or spiritual. Rumours speak of these ways being continued in the darker and quieter corners of Torica and beyond. An Unchained Magus is one who knows full well the value of knowledge and the exacting price one must pay to be its master.
