Rusk is a tall, broad-shouldered man. While he does not make a point of advertising his scars, those who have seen him laboring in the fields have seen the shirtless man’s back is covered in scars, many of which appear to be burns. His arms too show the tell-tale marks of being cut deeply on more than one occasion.

When Rusk turned 18, he appeared in High Reaches and put himself forth as a member of the Field Force. Over the next 2 years Rusk was both the pride of his squad and the thorn in the side of his superiors. On the field of battle, no foe could shake the resolve of Rusk, who gained fame and glory for his ability to dispatch even the hardiest of foes. Yet Rusk’s temper was never under control and he more often than not spent time being disciplined for violent outbursts among his peers. Eventually, Rusk’s temper got the best of him when disagreeing with his sergeant over the best way to deal with a small band of raiding Karr. Rusk wanted, as always to take the fight to the enemy while the sergeant insisted on waiting for help to arrive. Taking matters into his own hands Rusk went off to fight the Karr alone. The next morning Rusk returned to camp, barely able to support himself. The sergeant began to berate Rusk, only to get a greatsword shoved through his chest before Rusk collapsed from exhaustion and his wounds.

Rusk woke up confused, his wounds wrapped. A priest of Scorsheth sat beside him. “It seems you’ve been given a second chance. No one was willing to point the finger at you, but you’ll never serve again, not in the militia anyway. There are other ways to serve though.”

Now Rusk, still quick to anger, serves as a mighty warrior in the service of Scorsheth, laying waste to the enemies of the Desert Storm.
