Name: Saleen Shaw
Age: 68
Location: Torica
Occupation: Priestess of Niomae
Saleen's mother was a priestess of Lilianthe in the House of Concordant Cycles before the sundering of Atalan. She may not have survived if not for a guard and her long time lover rushing her and their young child to safety. Together they traveled with other refugees towards High Reaches.
With the limited space and supplies available, they made the decision to join those heading for a new island that would be colonized by humans. During the trip however, Saleen's father died, as a result of injuries sustained in defending the caravan of people. This left her mother alone to raise a still very young child amongst the unknown.
Saleen coped with the death of her father very well for a younger child. While her mother attended to the people of Torica, Saleen spent most of her time on the coast. There with her child innocence she mimicked her mother's prayers but towards the ocean she had grown to love. She had her mother and her mother ocean.
Garnering some minor fame across the isle during an oncoming hurricane, Saleen still as a small child was witnessed atop a roof, parting the oncoming storm. Upon inquiring she said that is was her faith in the mother ocean that was so responsible, not simply her.
Over the years as she grew the name Niomae came to replace mother ocean, and Saleen became her first known true priestess of the tri-natured goddess. Converting many of Torica's residence to this newly found Overseer, she has found a place among the people. Although her mother would have wanted her to follow Lilianthe as she had, she respects her daughter's wishes.
Saleen continues to be particularly well known due to her aid during the Torica invasion leading other priests and priestesses of Niomae in their work during the battles.
