Archducal House of Atalan (Formerly the Ducal House of Palustris)

The House von Atalan was the first house to be awarded the Archduchy of Atalan by the Emperor. Supported by House van Martellus and House van Ottrius, they were lead by the Archduchess.

All members of this house are said to be returning to the mainland after the arrival of the von Strathornes, with a noted exception below.

• Archduchess Cornelia (Beaumort) Von Atalan has much written on her. (Please click her name).

• Duke Archibald Von Palustris was her husband, dead soon after arrival in the new colony.

• Archduke Maximilian Terratus Von Atalan I, Claudia’s husband, was the last Head of House after his take over of the House at the Archduchess' presumed death. He was the son of Grand Duke Reginald von Terratus, a politically powerful Duke residing at the Imperial Court, of distant relation to the Imperial House, through marriage. It is said he arranged to marry Claudia to cement relations between the Archducal Family and the Halmorian Imperial Court. He also strongly believed that Halmorians were better than all others, and made this point known when possible.

• Archduchess Claudia Von Atalan, Cornelia’s eldest daughter, was renowned for her Beauty, as well as her headstrong personality. Married to Duke Maximilian Terratus von Atalan I

• Count Maximillian Terratus Von Atalan II, Claudia’s son and heir presumptive, was a known womanizer as much as his father was.

• Cordelia Von Atalan, Claudia's youngest daughter, escaped with the rebel Nicolae Mathandric, never to be seen within the House again.

• Margrave Archibald II Von Atalan, Cornelia’s son, was previously the heir presumptive. In his late 30s he is Cornelia’s oldest child and heir to the Archduchy. Known to be highly devout to Memnos/Fraeyl, we was very popular with the people due to his martial prowess. His late wife Margravine Seraphina von Elyseus died in childbirth. He left to fight in the war, before others of his house left Eramere.

• Countess Lucretia Corvinus Von Atalan, is Archibald's wife.

• Count Sebastian Von Atalan, and Countess Seravanda Von Atalan, are Archibald’s twins. Sebastian was known to be somewhat flamboyant and trained in the are of the duelist, while Seravanda is known for her acts of charity. Seravanda chose to relinquish her name, and remain in Eramere with her fiance.

• Count Cornelius Beaumont Von Atalan, is Cornelia’s youngest son. He was said to be highly eccentric.

• Viscount Vernicus Von Atalan, was not a blood relation. His wife was Baroness Persephone Von Atalan.
