Description

The Kutarans have made the steppes, plains, and mountains south of Halmoria their home for millennia. At their heart, they are a tribal, semi-nomadic culture, separated into nine tribes that are at war with each other almost as often as they are with others.

Small and slender, the Kutarans are known for their skill with and upon horses, with the best cavalry on the continent of Auviras. They are also renowned for their shamans and oracles, and are highly spiritual as a whole.

The Kutarans believe that their skills with a variety of crafts is exceptional, and that their art and poetry can rival any in the known world. Besides their warriors and oracles, bards are also highly recognized within the society, for they can make a lonely night pass quickly and carry a hero’s life on past his death. So long as an individual can make a worthy contribution, he or she is precious. Those who do not contribute are not tolerated.

Kutarans on Eramere

Kutaran scouts and traders have made their presence well known to the peoples of Eramere. Their warriors played a significant role in the Battle of the Red Moon. It is believed that their camp Tir-Algiraas is to be found somewhere within the Karrgath Hills, but rarely remains in one location for more than a year.

Clans and their camp here in Eramere are very important to the Kutarans, and while many are quite friendly and welcome trade, even working within various towns and villages at times, Tir-Algiraas remains their home, as does a hidden city within the mountains. On Eramere, the tribes are known as the Bairnid, Saiman, Nirya, Bagadon, Chuamak, and Uzmerin. The Imperial tribe is Kuarnid, and the Fhiranid clan answers to none but them.
