Despite assumptions derived from her membership in the Academy, she prefered to refer to herself as an artist and not an arcanist, although that changed later. Rumours around the Baroness also spoke of working with necromancy, though they were dropped around the same time as the War.

Arctura left Atalan to fight in the war with Kalmivar, returning as a war hero, only to leave once more when the city declared itself independent shortly after her return.
