Born in [[Torica]], Kris had a life of living on the streets with his family. They were a poor sort, and Kris had to turn to being a pickpocket and a runner for a local gang. He eventually earned enough coin as a young man to move himself and his family to [[High Reaches]] and start a life there. It wasn't long until it was discovered he had a natural knack for not only pilfering coin but also the study of magic. He was a smart boy, and when he entered the University he stayed at apprenticeship for many years. He moved up to Adept and began performing his own research--how to pilfer magic itself. Since his induction as a Junior Instructor, Kris focused on building his reputation within the University.
